  • Who can apply for the Working Holiday Visa ?

    Argentine and Uruguayan citizens between 18 and 35 years old can request the Working Holiday Visa. You can apply for the Visa until the previous day that you turn 36 years (as long as the registration is currently open and space is available ).

  • How long is the Working Holiday Visa ?

    From the day that the visa is confirmed, you have a period of one year to enter New Zealand for the first time .
    Once you enter New Zealand, the visa is valid for 12 months straight .

  • Can I extend my stay in New Zealand asking for another Working Holiday Visa ?

    No, the Working Holiday Visa is granted only once. However , you may request an extension of the visa of three months if you have worked in the harvest of fruits during the 12 month stay .

  • What if my Working Holiday Visa is approved and then I decide not to travel to New Zealand ?

    If you do not travel within the estimated period (12 months ) after confirmation of the visa , you can not reapply . Nor is it possible to transfer it to another person.

  • What does this visa let me do ?

    You can work during your stay in New Zealand in one or more temporary jobs . It is forbidden to take permanent employment commitments with this Visa.
    You can take courses during your stay in New Zealand not exceeding 6 months . Should you want to continue your studies , you must apply for a Student Visa .

  • Can I work in any job ?

    Yes, you can work in any job of temporary nature . Remember that the primary objective of the visa is vacationing , with work and study secondary endpoints .

  • Is this a work visa ?

    No, it's a tourist visa that gives you the opportunity to work temporarily.

  • Does having the Working Holiday Visa increases my chances of getting permanent residence in New Zealand ?

    No, the management and administration of the Working Holiday Visa is completely different to the application a Work Visa or residence. You can apply for permanent residence while in New Zealand, but if your Working Holiday Visa becomes outdated before you get a response, you must leave the country.

  • My passport is still pending, can I still apply to book a vacancy ?

    No, it is a requirement to have the original passport with which you are traveling with to complete the application. This passport must be valid for at least 15 months after the estimated date of entry to New Zealand .
    It is not possible to book a vacancy while the applicant is renewing his passport.

  • Can I apply for the Working Holiday Visa while I'm in New Zealand or elsewhere ?

    Yes, the visa is requested online at the Immigration New Zealand website: www.immigration.govt.nz

  • Can I pay the visa credit card ?

    The visa can only be paid with Visa or Mastercard . Only after you complete of the application and payment, you have booked your visa. It is the responsibility of each applicant to ensure that you can pay online successfully. To this end , we encourage the relevant stakeholders engaged in consultation with your bank and, if necessary, request permission in advance. The New Zealand Embassy in Buenos Aires is not authorized in any case and without exception, to receive related to the Working Holiday Program payments.

  • How do I have to submit a Certificate of X -rays ?

    Once your application has been accepted , you will receive an email with the details needed to send your X-Ray Certificate.
    Along with the certificate, you must attach the form "Temporary Entry Form Xray " (no need to send the image plate).
    You can find the list of authorized physicians here: www.immigration.govt.nz/paneldoctors
    Each applicant must send the certificate directly to Immigration New Zealand, not to the Embassy in Buenos Aires.
    To send it, each applicant shall bear the costs, choosing the international courier company that is your preference.

  • Do I have to buy health insurance to apply this Working Holiday Visa ?

    While it is not necessary to have medical insurance when applying for a visa it is mandatory requirement to have an insurance that includes hospitalization and medical coverage for 12 consecutive months from the date of entry into New Zealand.

  • Can I use my health insurance credit card?

    No. It is important to note that most of the health insurances offered by credit cards do not meet the requirements requested, since they only provide coverage for 120 days.

  • Do I have to buy a ticket to apply for the Working Holiday Visa ?

    No, but when entering New Zealand you must show a return ticket .

  • Do I have to have a job to apply for the Working Holiday Visa ?

    No, it is not necessary to have a job offer.

  • Can my partner apply for Working Holiday Visa with me?

  • Can I go with my children ?

    It is not allowed to enter New Zealand with children with the Working Holiday Visa .

    No, the Working Holiday Visa has a duration of 12 months. The requirements (eg . Health insurance) are required regardless of the time effectively spent .
