Understand which interview you'll have
How you prepare depends on who you'll be talking to and why. Confirm whether it's a language assessment, a selection conversation or an interview with an employer. Ask for the basics: time and time zone, estimated length, platform and required documents. That way you can practice with a clear goal.
Prepare examples from your experience
Go over your studies, jobs and activities, and pick situations you can explain in your own words. Say what responsibility you had, what you did and what you learned. If you haven't worked yet, you can talk about school projects or team activities. Avoid memorizing answers that don't reflect your experience.
Practice introducing yourself
Rehearse a short introduction about who you are, what you study or do, and why you're interested in the program. If the interview is in another language, practice in that language and get used to asking for clarification when you don't understand a question. Listening and answering honestly helps more than trying to use words you're not comfortable with.
Mind the details and bring questions
Test your camera, microphone and connection ahead of time. Find a quiet place and keep your CV and the details of the opportunity at hand. Prepare questions about tasks, schedules and next steps. When you're done, write down what was discussed and check with your advisor about any condition you need to confirm before moving forward.
