What would you recommend to someone who would like to follow in your footsteps?
The most important thing concerning work is be aware, focusing yourself and committing yourself to learning and working. On the other hand, with regards to personal life, to mix with others, to learn and show other people about you, your culture, education, ambitions and expectations.

The most important thing is to be aware of the fact you will be far from your family and friends for a period of 18 months in a very different country from your own with regards to culture, laws, rules, customs and on the other hand focusing on goals and committing yourself to achieving them.

Why did it benefit you to go?
Everyone has different expectations and goals but if you want to make money or you want to get work experience, it will benefit you one way or another.

Where would you recommend others to go?
I would recommend others to do to England or if not I advise them to go to the USA. They are two different cultures but also it is a wonderful experience.

How must one plan the trip?
The trip must be planned and focused on in various ways, professionally, personally and in a way that represents the individual person. This is something personal.

Which jobs are beneficial to do over there?

Average US $ 1,900

What did you spend the money on?
A little bit of everything. Training, travel, trips away.

What most surprised you?
Personally it didn´t surprise me because I already knew for a long time before their culture and education. With regards to my profesional experience, mine was very unique during the period of hurricanes when we had to shut the hotel during a meteorological alert and then re-open it. It was a big procedure, regarding moving the guests to other hotels, closing supplies and operational systems in the whole property and then opening them all again, starting a working day from anew with a lot of work to make everything work again. It is an impressive operation which we organize 4 months before the hurricane period, in weekly meetings with the management and directors, one of the things we talked about was the working procedures in the event of a meteorological alert to evacuate the hotel.
