-We would like to know how you are and how you feel, as a participant of the Work & Travel USA program

Excellent, I loved it. It was an incredible experience and I would definitely repeat it.

-What was the experience for?

Really for everything, I had a lot of growth starting from the personal, because when I went to another country I met another culture. I also grew a lot financially, being able to work outside a hotel is a lot of experience, meeting people from different countries, traveling to other places, creating friendships and ties, everything was incredible!

-Was the work as you imagined it?
Yes, as I imagined. I had the experience of my brother who had already done it and he explained a lot about the position.
At first my bosses were pretty serious but we had a great bond in the end.
When I started work, I had a problem with my boss, because she bullyng a colleague of mine who was dark-haired, and she treated me badly but I defended myself, I talked to her boss and at the end of the trip the relationship improved Fortunately.
Also, our manager was new to work and the first full month we were in the housing with no table and no chairs. It was half complicated, because the first 10 days we were living in the hotel, then in another housing for only 1 week, and finally they sent us to another house 20 days without chairs and tables, we complained to the sponsor and they met us afterwards!

-How was the work environment? How was the relationship with other coworkers?

It was great, there were people from all over. Some spoke a little Spanish and they were all very cool, I was able to practice a lot of English with them and now I want to continue practicing so as not to lose it.

-What were the best things about your job? And the worst?
One of the best, it was the place that was very good, my colleagues, the paycheck maybe haha we also had a break all together, it was fun!

Of the worst, I hated vacuuming the entire building because when there was no more work, they sent us to vacuum all the floors, they were able to vacuum 4 hours haha but it still worked, there was no problem.

-What did you do on your days off?
In general, it was the only one that had 2 or 3 days off in a row, so I took advantage of being at home, I went skiing for a few days, I also went shopping in New York because the place where I lived in the town was very quiet, It had only 1 bar that was far away but if we wanted to go we would take a taxi.

-Were you able to see other places?

Yes, I traveled to New York, Washington and Virginia.

-What surprised you the most?

The difference itself surprised me, I loved the place where I worked, because everything you worked was worth, capable working an hour I could already buy a pair of sneakers, the money is worth there and I really liked it, completely different to what is here.

-Any anecdote that you take as a souvenir?
Yes, one day a boy who worked with us and lived in the same complex invited us to the house to meet his new roommate, and when I arrived with my roommates, there were 12 Hindus in the room, haha it was funny.
At work too, we were able to find 2 unopened pizzas in the room and eat it at the break, the truth was everything.
We became friends with a group in New Jersey, and we quarantined them, there was a culture exchange and I learned a lot from them!

-What would you recommend to someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?
Let him do it, cheer up! It really is worth it, it is a before and after without a doubt.

All this information is very useful for us and for the boys who want to travel with the program for the next seasons, so we really appreciate your collaboration.
