  • Can I choose the place where i´m going to work?

    You have to choose at least 3 destinations/ cities/ job offers. The job vacancies are generally in holiday destinations, ski resorts, beach destinations, water parks or similar in places where there is no stable or permanent population and so they need to hire people from other countries during the high season to work there.
    Yes, you can choose between snow and beach but the ideal is for you to be flexible and open to the destinations which are offered to you for your program.

  • How many hours a week do you work on average?

    You work 32 to 45 hours a week on average. 40 hours are five days of 8 hours. Some weeks you are going to work more hours and others less. If you receive tips as well you will have a varying income.

  • 3) Is it necessary to have experience? What type of experience do the employers ask for in general?

    The program is designed for university students therefore it is not required to have experience. Many people travel and their first job is in the US. Some employers ask for experience for example in order to go to some more luxurious restaurants, they ask for experience as a waiter. To be a ski instsructor they ask that you know how to ski. In order to work in a water resort they as that you know how to swim. In everything they ask for your level of English to be good enough to maintain conversation.

  • Can I return before my contract ends?

    In the case of a force majeure you can terminate your contract before it is time, but bare in mind that you are not going to have the "month of grace" month when you can travel around the USA with the money that you earnt and your new friends from the program.

  • Can I change jobs?

    Only if there is a breach on the employer´s part can you change jobs. That is to say that you have a valid reason to ask for a change. You can only change with the authorisation of the USA sponsor. If you wish to change your job, contact InterLatina so we will guide you through the process.

  • If they do not hire me do I lose the registration fee?

    Generally if they do not hire you, we present your CV to other employers until you get hired. Usually sudents recieve a job offer after one or two interviews. In the case of you decide not to travel for any reason, you lose part of the registration fee.

  • How will you evaluate my English?

    To participate in the program you will have an exam in InterLatina, then an interview with your future employer, then an interview with the sponsor and lastly an interview for the visa. All of these are in English. You have to have a level that permits you to carry out these interviews.

  • What percentage of the people who register are hired?

    Generally all of those who register travel with the program. 100% of the students that are enrolled in the program recieve a job offer. In general the job vacancies are not all together, but they get more suited to you as time passes by anf we assess you so that you choose one that fits your expectations.

  • What does the medical insurance cover?

    The medical insurance comes included in the program. It covers accidents, illnesses. Limited dentistry cover. It does not cover routine check-ups.

  • Can all the costs be paid by card? In installments?

    Yes. You can pay by card if it is in installments, with interest. For payments in one, it is best to make them in cash, deposit into our account or wire transfer.

  • Are the interviews face-to-face?

    There are face-to-face interviews and interviews via skype. In 2017 the in person interviews for work and travel will take place at the end of August.

  • What are the working dates?

    Each person can work during the dates of their university holidays. Not everyone has the same dates. The program is from the 1st pf December to the 3st of March maximum. Each person can work from the end date of their second semester at university until the beginning of the first semester of the following year. This needs you to be sure of the proof of your being a bilingual student. It does not matter if you are in your last year. Your maximum date of work, is the start date of the school cycle of 2015. Each person´s month of grace starts on this date. This month is optional. This means that it is not obligatory to stay one more month.
    The destination that you can apply for depends on the dates that you can work during. On choosing your job offer, you have to bare in mind the dates that your employer requests and see if they coincide with the dates which you can work during.

  • Can I buy the flights by myself or do I have to buy them through InterLatina?

    Generally you buy them through InterLatina. We have good prices for young people and offers for students. But you have the freedom to buy your own, only that in that case you lose what you paid for the flights which was included in the registration fee of the program.

  • If I am from the country can I sign up?

    You can sign up if you are from the country. The job interviews will generally be via skype, but you are invited to face-to-face interviews in Buenos Aires. You are obliged to come to Buenos Aires for the visa interview in the US embassy (it is two consecutive days). You can make the payments via bank transfer or with a credit card.

  • What is the SEVIS?

    SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) is the government´s computerised system maintained by the migration department (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Bureau: ICE formerly INS) which allows the collection and management of data about students, exchange visitors during their stay in the US.
    As an applicant of the Work & Travel program, you must pay the tariff of USD35, directly to InterLatina. Then you will have to present proof when you go to process the visa; also you will have to register yourself in the system within 7 days of arriving in the USA, you will have to register all changes with them too, or new jobs that you take in the location.

  • What is the best date to register myself?

    The earlier you register, the better! They will give priority for the chosen destinations to those who signed up first. The registration closes on the 1st of September. Once you sign up, you start receiving information from the employers who are interviewing that week. If any post interests you, an interview is arranged and if they hire you, you can advance with the program.

  • How does the housing work?

    The majority of job placements come with accommodation, the price given is per person in shared accommodation. You have to pay a deposit in acase you breach the contract or you break anything, etc. Sometimes the deposit is discounted from your wages or sometimes you have to pay it in advance.

  • Is it better for the offer to already have accommodation?

    It has its pros and cons. You don´t have to worry about finding it but it is a bit more expensive that finding it by yourself. The monthly cost is between USD 350 and USD 550 (cost per person in shared accommodation). If you go with friends and you want to share accommodation with them you must inform us before hand.

  • Can I travel with friends?

    Yes you can travel with friends! Groups of two, three or up to four students can travel to the same place. It will depend on who is willing to hire four people together. It is important that if you want to go together, you sign up together and you do everything more or less at the same time.

  • How much do you pay at the time of registration?

    You pay USD 240 plus USD 100 towards the flight. You pay in pesos at the official exchange rate.

  • 1- Do I need to have an advanced level of English to participate in this program?

    No, rest easy! You will need a level of English that allows you to communicate in your work, the rest you will be able to learn there and you will improve a lot.

  • What types of jobs are offered?

    Employers offer jobs such as: ski / snowboard instructors, lifeline operators, ticket checker, restaurant service, food and beverages, reception, kitchen helpers, hosts, dishwasher, maids, bar assistant, among others.

  • What type of visa do I need to travel?

    It is a special visa for cultural exchanges: "J1", which together with the agency and the Sponsor we help you to obtain it!

  • If I am no longer a student, can I do this program?

    If you are not a university or tertiary student, you cannot do this type of program, since it is a requirement.

  • Does the program include airfare?

    The ticket is not included in the program, it is an additional cost and will vary based on the destination

  • ¿Could I have a second job?

    Sure! But it is very important that you inform your Sponsor and that it does not affect your working hours from the first job.

  • How long does the program last?

    The program lasts a maximum of four months of work and one free month in which you can travel!

  • Can I travel with a friend?

    Of course! It is important that you register as soon as possible and do the steps of the program together, then you just need the same employer to take both of you!
