Description


This program offers experienced international teachers the opportunity to work as educators in primary or secondary schools in the United States, participating in cultural and intercultural activities for a period of up to 3 years, with the possibility of extending to 5 years.


Participants will work alongside American professionals and interact with them on a daily basis. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to take part in cultural activities both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring a well-rounded exchange experience.


The annual salary ranges from USD 42,000 to USD 50,000, depending on the position and the applicant’s level of experience.




 

Requirements

To participate in the program, the following requirements must be met:


 




  • - Have an advanced level of English, sufficient to participate in an interview.
    - Be a college or university graduate with a degree in early childhood, primary, or secondary education.
    - Have at least 2 years of proven teaching experience after graduation.
    - Be currently working as a teacher in your home country.
    - Have good character and professional/personal references.
    - Be willing to relocate to the United States for a minimum of one year, with the possibility of extending your stay.
    - You may participate in the program with your family, if applicable. 



What this visa allows

Participants will have the opportunity to: - Work full-time as exchange teachers in qualified host schools in the United States.- Fulfill a contract of at least 32 teaching hours per week during the academic year, for a period of up to 3 years (extendable).- Participate in formal cultural activities both inside and outside the classroom. Family Benefits: - The teacher’s spouse may obtain a visa for the same period, with work authorization.- Children under the age of 21 will receive temporary residency allowing them to study in the U.S. What the Program Includes:   - Coordination of the teaching position in cooperation with the host school.- Orientation materials covering key topics for adaptation and job performance.- Assistance in organizing cultural activities.- A mentor at the host school to provide professional, cultural, and community support.- A supervisor assigned to monitor the teacher’s performance in the classroom.- Review and processing of the Annual Report, ensuring compliance with program regulations.

Application process

The process begins with a free informational meeting with one of our advisors. If you decide to move forward, you will sign the program agreement and make the registration payment. Next, you will have an English interview with a member of InterLatina to assess your language level.
Once your application is approved, we will assist you in preparing your documentation folder, which must include:




  • - CV in English (following the provided format)
    - Valid ID or passport
    - Academic transcripts issued by your university (in English or Spanish)
    - Original diploma or proof of diploma request (Alternatively, a Professional Education Certificate translated into English may be submitted)
    - Letter of reference in English from a university professor or other relevant person with an academic or professional relationship (This may be replaced by a Professional Experience Certificate)
    - Police clearance certificate




Once your documentation is complete, we will begin the search for a school interested in hiring you. A virtual interview with the institution will be arranged, and if you are selected, you will receive a formal job offer.


After accepting the offer, you will need to submit any remaining documents, pay the final program balance, and purchase health insurance for a minimum of 12 months.


 


Once everything is ready, we will guide you through the J1 visa application process. After your visa is approved, you will be able to purchase your flight ticket and prepare for your teaching experience in the United States.

Medical insurance and flights

 - Airfare: Between USD 1,500 and USD 2,000, depending on the destination and travel date.


The teacher is responsible for covering their own airfare, as well as that of any accompanying family members (if applicable).
- Health insurance: USD 70 per month, payable in advance according to the duration of the contract.
