Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Mathematics
Two years of full-time teaching experience
Certified to teach Mathematics for grades 6–12 (middle or high school)
Fluent in English
Must currently be teaching in a K–12 school
If not currently teaching, the candidate must have obtained an advanced degree within the past 12 months and have 2 years of teaching experience within the last 8 years
Description
At this time, we have several middle schools in Los Angeles, California that are hiring foreign mathematics teachers. These are state schools and already have international teachers working with them, so they will be able to provide you with support and assistance at your placement in the area.
The contracts are for up to 3 years. The minimum annual salary offered is US$ 50,156. Your spouse (if applicable) will be granted a work visa for the same duration as yours (up to 3 years). If you have children, they will be able to attend school there. Once the 3-year period has ended, the visa can be extended.
All program expenses are the responsibility of the applicant. You are also responsible for the cost of the visa, SEVIS, health insurance, and travel expenses to the United States.
