What this visa allows
The Working Holiday Visa for Japan allows you to legally work in a variety of temporary jobs. You can enter the country with an open work permit, with the exception of jobs in nightlife or gambling establishments. The visa is valid for up to 12 months. During your free time, you can explore Japan, travel within the country, and take part in cultural activities. Average earnings range from ¥160,000 to ¥230,000 per month, depending on the job and location.
Application process
The process begins with registration and an English interview to assess your language level. Once approved, you will receive the full visa guide to begin your application.
During the visa process and job selection stage, depending on the type of program you choose (assisted or independent), you may either access a job database (especially for winter resort jobs from December to March), or find a job on your own for other periods of the year.
Once your visa is granted, your initial accommodation is booked and you must inform your arrival date at least 8 weeks in advance. From there, your local support program will begin.
Upon arrival in Japan, you’ll receive assistance with tax registration, opening a bank account, enrolling in the national health insurance system, and ongoing local support throughout your stay (if you chose the assisted option).
Medical insurance and flights
An international health insurance policy is mandatory throughout your entire stay in Japan. This is not included in the program fee.
Flights are not included. InterLatina offers support with ticket bookings, but you may also book your own flight.
We recommend that you purchase your flight only after your visa has been approved and your arrival date has been confirmed.
