A cultural exchange experience filled with learning, community and memories that last a lifetime.

A year living with a family

As an Au Pair, you live for a year with a host family in the United States, help care for their children and get a close-up look at the American way of life. The program uses a J-1 visa, lasts 12 months and can be extended for 6, 9 or 12 more months. You always have your own room.

What a typical day looks like

Your tasks revolve around the kids: preparing their meals, taking them to and picking them up from school and their activities, joining them in games and outings, and helping them with their routines. You work up to 45 hours a week, with a maximum of 10 hours a day. You have at least a day and a half off each week and one full weekend off each month.

What you receive

You receive a weekly stipend, all your meals and a contribution of up to USD 500 a year for courses. The family pays for your airfare, from your country to New York, and the domestic flight to your destination. Before you travel, you complete a 32-hour online training and, when you arrive, a 2-day seminar in New York with au pairs from around the world.

Who can apply

We're looking for people aged 19 to 24, with a high school diploma, intermediate English (B1) and childcare experience: between 300 and 500 hours in the last 5 years, with 2 references. You also need a driver's license held for at least one year and to know how to cook. Book an info session and we'll tell you how the selection process with families works.
